Not just any old reggae tune, this mix digs out the corner of the funky and uplifting 45’s, featuring some of the leading artists that shaped the history of Jamaican music, providing it with a rock solid foundation for today’s Dancehall music to build on. Or as one might put it: Cyaan build no house if yuh naah no foundation.

DeepDigger’s First Blood: Fania

Aaawrighdy! This one kicks it off: DeepDigger.org, a podcast/audioblog devoted to digging deep into the furthest corners of the musical universe. There’s so much music in the world, more tunes than you’ll ever get to listen to in this lifetime, and some just deserve this extra attention.The first episode is an extended mix of the finest in New York Latin oldschool Salsa, all released on the infamous Fania label late 70’s/early 80’s, mixed by Spanish-based DJ Bobtown.
